Police were looking early Wednesday for a driver they said struck and killed a man in Queens before fleeing the scene.
NYPD officials said the driver hit the 52-year-old man as he crossed 155th Street and South Conduit Avenue in Springfield Gardens around 2:30 a.m. The intersection is steps from two hotels near JFK Airport and just off the Belt Parkway.
Police said the man was taken to Jamaica Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. He was not immediately identified, as officials worked to notify his family.
Detectives from the NYPD’s Collision Investigation Squad were looking into the incident. Officials have not released a possible description of the vehicle.
