The opening scene of FX's Alien: Earth is probably the closest we'll ever get to seeing a remake of the timeless original Alien movie. The original Alien from 1979 is one of the best movies ever made , and there's really no reason to remake it. It's as thrilling and beautiful now as it was 46 years ago, and there's almost no chance anyone would dare to mess with a perfect film.
Since a remake will probably never happen, the premiere of Alien: Earth is the closest we'll ever get to seeing a modern reimagining of the original movie. Even though Alien: Earth takes place on Earth and earlier in the Alien timeline , it basically contains the entire original Alien movie in its first few minutes. It's not actually a remake, but it's extremely evocative of 1979's Alien .
