Aug. 12—Fire restrictions were issued in Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forest lands in several Colorado counties, including Boulder and Larimer, beginning Tuesday.
The stage one restrictions were put in place to prevent wildfires. Restrictions permit people to only maintain fire in Forest Service installed fire rings and picnic grills in developed campgrounds and picnic areas, according to a press release from the US Forest Service.
"Stage 1 fire restrictions limit activities with a high potential of starting wildfires, including campfires," the press release stated. "The purpose of these restrictions is to protect public health, safety, and natural resources by preventing wildfires."
Restrictions come after multiple wildfires that are currently burning across Colorado, including the L
