Meet the Mets
The Mets finally made some magic happen after a prolonged period of disappointment with a 13-5 smackdown of the Atlanta Braves. As part of the offensive outburst, Pete Alonso and Francisco Alvarez each had three hits with both having two home runs and a double. Brandon Nimmo and Brett Baty had a home run apiece as well. THe Mets starting pitching still left a lot to be desired, with Clay holmes giving up five runs without being able to get through even four innings. But the bullpen picked up the slack, with Gregory Soto and Justin Hagenman each having scoreless performances (with Hagenman getting the last four innings), Hagenman racking up five strikeouts as well.
