VALLEY STREAM, N.Y. (PIX11) – A man is accused of altering a $1.7 million U.S. Treasury check and using it to rob a Valley Stream Capital One bank, according to the Nassau County Police Department.

Police said 44-year-old Marc Lindor allegedly deposited the check on May 21, 2024. He’s then accused of withdrawing cash from his account numerous times, stealing $470,000 from the bank, according to authorities.

Police alleged that Lindor stole a legit check in the mail and put his name on it.

Lindor was arrested and charged with grand larceny and criminal possession of a forged instrument. He will be arraigned on Wednesday.
