Legendary tennis player Monica Seles is opening up about a chronic neuromuscular condition she has been dealing with for the past few years.

Seles told Good Morning America this week that three years ago she was diagnosed with myasthenia gravis, also known as MG. It is a rare autoimmune condition.

The 51-year-old, who is a member of the International Tennis Hall of Fame, knew something was wrong with her body and got checked out, before being diagnosed with MG.

"It was 30 years ago that I came back to the [U.S.] Open ... It was like a reset, and this was one of the reasons I decided to go public with my myasthenia gravis, because it’s been a huge reset in my professional life as a tennis player, also in my personal life,” Monica Seles told GMA.
