The heat and humidity can significantly worsen odours in your waste receptacle which can linger in your room. Indoor and outdoor bins can give off a strong pong as the mercury rises and rotting food and rubbish simmers inside them. ‌

For outdoor wheelie bins, experts recommend adding a layer of bicarbonate of soda to the bottom to neutralise any foul smells . And while outside bin smells are annoying, it's worse if your kitchen bin is emitting strong scents. ‌
