British holidaymakers heading to Spain are being warned that a simple mistake on the beach could lead to a hefty fine. Whilst e-cigarettes are legal to use across the country, some coastal areas have introduced their own rules banning vaping on certain beaches.
Tourists caught breaking them could face penalties of up to €2,000 (£1,700). The restrictions are not part of national law, but are enforced by local councils. This means something permitted on the street could still land you in trouble on the beach.
According to experts at Vape Ease UK, many visitors are unaware of the differences in regional rules. A spokesperson said: "People assume that if something's legal in the country, it's allowed everywhere, but that's not the case. In Spain, what's allowed in the street could get you fi
