COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - Film star Dolph Lundgren was spotted in the Midlands this week while filming a new movie in the area.

Lundgren took to Instagram on Monday, posing with the Cocky statue at the University of South Carolina campus.

“At U of South Carolina hanging out with my buddy Cocky,” Lundgren wrote in his post. “Not [to] be mixed up with my Italian friend.”

The “Italian friend” appears to be a reference to the “Rocky” film series, in which Lundgren starred as Soviet boxer Ivan Drago in “Rocky IV” alongside Sylvester Stallone’s titular character.

The Swedish actor also has a previous connection to South Carolina, having studied chemical engineering at Clemson University in the 1970s.
