Police officials in Colton, California, are singing the praises of one of their parking enforcement officers this week after he singlehandedly recovered 10 stolen vehicles and prevented them from being stripped and sold on the black market.

And did we mention he’s 82 years old?

“Yeah,” officer Bill Harring said, chuckling, “cost somebody a couple of bucks!”

Normally, Harring's day consists of issuing parking citations and making sure driveways aren’t blocked around town – something he does from his distinctive white pickup truck with a light bar on the roof and “City of Colton” emblazoned across its doors.
