TOWN OF SULLIVAN, NY (WUTR/WFXV/WPNY) -- The Madison County Department of Health is announcing aerial spraying after more evidence of EEE and West Nile Virus was found this week in the Town of Sullivan.
In a release issued on Wednesday, August 13, the county announced that it will conduct aerial spraying in the town of Sullivan on Friday, August 15. A map of the boundaries where the counties will be spraying can be seen below:
The county said that the spraying was necessary after mosquito pools collected last week found additional detections of Eastern Equine Encephalitis (EEE) as well as West Nile Virus. The county also cited the favorable warm temperatures for their reasoning behind the spraying.
