BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - Four juveniles are safe after a man banned from their house allegedly intentionally started a fire and threatened to kill them.

According to the Baton Rouge Fire Department, officials arrested Alfred Deon Jarvis Sr., 46, of Port Allen, on Tuesday, Aug. 12, in connection with an arson investigation from earlier that morning.

Jarvis is facing four counts of attempted first-degree murder and one count of each of the following: aggravated arson, home invasion, criminal trespass, and violation of a protective order.

The fire reportedly happened around 12:40 a.m. on Inverray Drive.
