PORT ANGELES – The Port Angeles School District will hold special board meetings this week to interview architect firms for two major school construction projects funded by last year’s voter-approved bond.

The meetings are set for 8 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 14, for Franklin Elementary, and Friday, Aug. 15, for Port Angeles High School, at the Lincoln Center Board Room, 905 W. 9th St. They are open to the public and will be streamed on the district’s YouTube channel. Agendas are posted on Board Docs. No public comment will be taken, and the board is expected to take action after the interviews.

Voters approved the $140 million bond in November 2024 as Phase 2 of a 30-year facilities plan to modernize aging schools. The measure will bring in an additional $36.5 million in state matching funds,
