As NASA sees change, astronaut and Space Force Brig. Gen. Nick Hague expects the agency to remain laser- focused on returning to the moon, a mission that will lay the groundwork for a trip to Mars.
During a presentation at Peterson Space Force Base on Tuesday, Hague described his personal experiences in space, and critical research meant to prepare for NASA to send astronauts on longer space voyages and overcome some of the health effects of microgravity.
In the coming decades, Hague said he hopes technology advances will allow far more people to go to space and see the Earth as it is, rather than how it's depicted on maps covered with boundary lines.
"As you look into the depths of the universe, you really start to appreciate just how small the Earth really is," he said.
