CHAMPION — After hearing from residents about people in golf carts on various roads, including state Route 45, trustees will look at what other communities do when it comes to regulating golf carts.

Residents have informed trustees that teenagers are often the ones driving the golf carts on the roads and they are concerned about potential accidents. Officials said there is nothing on the township’s books regarding golf carts, so rules will need to be established.

Trustee Chairman Doug Emerine said they will have legal counsel prepare a draft resolution of regulations and rules, and have police Chief Larry Skaggs check on Ohio Revised Code guidelines for golf carts.
