An Okanagan woman has been charged with impaired driving in a fatal highway crash in Oliver last year.
B.C. highway patrol said after nine months of investigation, charges have been approved by the B.C. Prosecution Service against Vanessa Lameiras, 30.
The crash occurred on the morning of July 31, 2024 when a grey Toyota Echo and white Ford Explorer collided on Highway 97 near Road 21 in Oliver.
At the time of the collision, police alleged the Ford Explorer was heading north on the highway when it crossed the centre line and hit the southbound Echo head-on.
The 39-year-old driver and lone occupant of the Toyota Echo was killed.
