ONEIDA, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) -- Oneida City School District has pulled back on making Bishop Grimes a temporary home for the 2025-26 school year.

In an email that went out to families on Aug. 13, the district explained that their decision comes out of an abundance of caution regarding circumstances out of their control. Thus, leading them to not sign the lease for the upcoming years.

"Before signing the lease, we brought in our maintenance team, engineers, architects, IT specialists, and outside contractors to conduct a thorough review of the facility. Based on their professional assessments, significant work would have been required to address mechanical, heating, safety, and network systems.
