CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) - Efforts are underway to preserve the skyline of Charleston with the restoration of the historic smokestacks at St. Julian Devine Community Center.
The City of Charleston has announced that the smokestack will undergo a top-to-bottom and inside-out restoration. The project is expected to begin this week and is aimed to be completed by early 2026.
