Shannon Viera, Greater Statesville Chamber of Commerce president and CEO, announced Monday that she will resign from her role on Sept. 12.

Viera said she has decided to pursue new opportunities. She took the helm of the Greater Statesville Chamber of Commerce in the fall of 2018, according to a news release from the chamber.

"Her strength has been bringing people and organizations together to collaborate for the benefit of our community. She has been instrumental as a founding partner in Iredell Ready and launching the Nonprofit and Human Services Collaborative," the release from Ron Matthews, chairman of the board, said.
