TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — The State Attorney's Office for the 18th Judicial Circuit is expected to announce whether charges will be filed in a dog attack that killed a child in January.
On Jan. 13, an 8-year-old boy was mauled by two dogs when he tried to pet them in a Deland neighborhood.
According to NBC affiliate WESH, the dogs were said to be loose in the neighborhood when the attack happened. The dogs were later euthanized.
The announcement on whether to charge the owners will begin at 1 p.m.
