It's been a long road to get here, but the Red Sonja reboot finally hit theaters today after decades of several starts and stops that saw the film change hands multiple times. It went from directors Robert Rodriguez and Simon West over the years, to Bryan Singer and Joey Soloway before landing in the lap of M.J. Bassett. With such a tumultuous history, expectations weren't exactly high for the new film, which isn't a remake of the 1985 Brigitte Nielsen movie, but rather a new interpretation of the comic book characters that Roy Lee adapted from creator Robert E. Howard.
