EXCLUSIVE: Magnolia Pictures’ genre arm Magnet Releasing has picked up North American rights to Tribeca Festival supernatural thriller Man Finds Tape , which XYZ Films will continue to sell internationally at TIFF next month.

Peter Hall and Paul Gandersman directed the story about Lynn, a documentarian who returns to her Texas hometown after receiving a cryptic phone call and begins to investigate disturbing footage of events nobody recalls.

As Lynn digs deeper, her brother’s connection to a once-viral web series called Man Finds Tape leads her to question the people in her town. When a stranger arrives, she must confront her family’s role in a legend tied to a monster stalking the town.
