LANCASTER, S.C. (WBTV) - A man wanted for murder in South Carolina was arrested on Wednesday, police said.

James Singleton was accused of shooting Edward Townsend at the Palmetto Place Apartments in Lancaster on Monday, Aug. 11.

said they found Townsend with a gunshot wound and took him to the hospital, where he died.

Singleton was identified as a suspect during the investigation, and less than 48 hours after the alleged murder, Singleton was arrested in Rock Hill on Wednesday morning.
