One U.S. citizen who voted for President Donald Trump was mistakenly detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents. Now, he regrets his past support for the president.
NBC 4 Los Angeles reported recently that Montebello, California resident Brian Gavidia is now speaking out after ICE agents forced him against a wall and demanded to see his proof of citizenship. He told reporters that he was now joining a lawsuit against the Trump administration's heavy-handed immigration enforcement.
"I truly believe I was targeted because of my race," Gavidia said, adding: "We were all brainwashed."

Agents confiscated Gavidia's phone and his real ID, though Gavidia accused the agents of never giving him his Real ID back. Video posted to social media shows Gavidia being held against his wall by two agents while shouting: "I was born here in the states! East L.A. bro!" He told NBC Los Angeles he felt misled by Trump's rhetoric concerning the immigrants who would be deported.
"I believe it was a mistake because he ran on lies," Gavidia said. "He said [he would be deporting] 'criminals.'"
"If this was going to happen, do you think we would have voted?" he added. :We're humans. We're not going to destroy our community. We're not going to destroy our people."
Gavidia emphasized that he would vote differently if given the opportunity, saying Trump supporters "were all manipulated." He told the outlet: "We are all suffering because of it, and I feel guilty 100 percent."
