TEXAS – The family of a victim in the Hill Country floods has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against a resort where she was staying.

Jayda Floyd, 22, was staying at HTR TX Hill Country Resort, a luxury RV park and campground along the Guadalupe River in Kerrville, when she was among those swept away by the floods.

The lawsuit, announced Tuesday by Glasheen, Valles & Inderman Injury Lawyers, is believed to be the first legal action related to last month’s deadly flooding in the area.

The lawsuit alleges the resort failed to have adequate systems to monitor extreme weather, warn guests, or evacuate them in time.
