HOUSTON (KIAH) — The Lamar Little League All-Stars begin their run in the Little League World Series on Wednesday, representing the Southwest Region, Texas, and of course, the Houston area.

The team from Richmond in Fort Bend County will face the Metro Region champions from Fairfield, Conn., Wednesday at 5 p.m. Central time at Lamade Stadium in Williamsport, Pa.

This will be Lamar’s third appearance at the World Series after making back-to-back appearances in 2003 and 2004.

Lamar will then face the New England Regional champions from Braintree, Mass., on Thursday at 1 p.m. Central.

To help offset the costs of sending the boys from Houston to Williamsport, the families of the team has created a GoFundMe page for donations.
