Billings will keep funneling taxpayer dollars into boosting security and services to benefit properties in certain parts of the city for the next 10 years. The BID was established in 2005 when property owners voted to initiate, manage and pay for services above and beyond those typically provided by the city.
State law requires it to be renewed every 10 years with at least 60% support from taxpayers within its boundaries.
