ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. —

Solomon Peña has been sentenced in federal court after his conviction in politically motivated shootings that happened in 2022 and 2023.

A federal indictment claimed Peña plotted four shootings at the homes of elected officials from Dec. 4, 2022, to Jan. 3, 2023. Peña was arrested later in January 2023.

No one was hurt in the series of home shootings.

Peña was sentenced today to 80 years in prison with three years of supervised release.

Two of his co-conspirators were sentenced earlier this year. Demetrio Trujillo was sentenced to 15 years in May 2025, while Jose Trujillo was sentenced to 37 months in prison.

Peña has also been convicted of and charged with 13 counts, including conspiracy, election interference, and solicitation to commit a crime of violence.
