The Chicago Cubs have scuffled through the month of August so far, with Pete Crow-Armstrong’s struggles at the plate reflective of most of his teammates.
Crow-Armstrong hit his 27 th home run of the season in a July 23 game against the Kansas City Royals, but has now gone 16 consecutive games without a long ball, his longest stretch of the season.
What’s more, he hasn’t had an extra-base hit since hitting a double against the Baltimore Orioles on Aug. 1, marking nine straight games without one. He also hasn’t driven in a run in 10 consecutive games.
Since Aug. 1, Crow-Armstrong has seen his batting average drop by 16 points, his on-base percentage drop by 16 points, and his slugging percentage drop by 38 points.
Overall, he’s 3-for-37 in the month of August, with zero RBI’s, zero hom
