Opens Friday: One from the Heart: Reprise at AFI Silver

The blockbuster debacle of Megalopolis was only the latest in a series of big-budget follies from filmmaker Francis Ford Coppola, whose storied career merits frustration as much as celebration. But the megalomaniacal visionary knows his way around a doomed passion project, and there may be no better example of his purely cinematic genius than the 1982 musical One from the Heart, a fever dream of German expressionism filtered through a Vegas floor show that may be the most dazzlingly beautiful movie he’s ever made.
