The City of Bozeman is working on two separate but intertwined projects along the Fowler Avenue corridor.

At a City Commission meeting Tuesday, city staff presented updates to a project to build out Fowler Avenue between its dead-end at Babcock Street to Oak Street. The project has been in the works for years and is approaching the final design phase.

City officials also discussed using about five acres of city-owned land left over from the road project for a housing development targeting the “missing middle” ownership market.

Plans are still in the early stages, city Urban Renewal Program Manager David Fine told commissioners, because the land, south of Oak Street along the Fowler corridor, is an un-annexed “county pocket” and is un-zoned.
