A report of a death at Revere Beach launched a police investigation Wednesday morning.

Massachusetts State Police investigated a possible unattended death in Revere at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in the area of 645 Revere Beach Blvd. Police cordoned off a section of the beach during the investigation, according to state police.

However, through the investigation, police confirmed it wasn’t a body.

“It’s been confirmed that the item in question is a large blanket rolled up,” said Sergeant Gregory Jones in an email sent to MassLive. “There has been no body of any type recovered.”
