Mad Dog Brits need to ditch BBQs and start treating heat as a hazard, according to a top weather boffin. Dr Mehri Khosravi said folk need to start heeding songwriter Noel Coward’s famous lyrics which suggest only ‘mad dogs and Englishmen go out in the midday sun’.
Instead of stripping off when it is hottest at the height of the day they should learn to seek out the shade as temperatures soar like their continental neighbours.
