The North Alabama Drug Task Force comprised of the Huntsville Police Department, the Madison County Sheriff's Office, and the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, dismantled a significant drug trafficking organization, leading to nearly two dozen arrests.
This operation was the first under the Billy Clardy III Act, named for the fallen HPD STAC agent who was killed in the line of duty in 2019 while investigating a major drug trafficking operation.
The North Alabama Drug Task Force and ALEA’s Alabama Drug Enforcement Task Force launched the investigation into Reginald Scott’s operations back in November 2023. Lt. Joe Kennington stated Scott was the leader of a drug organization that was operating primarily in the north Huntsville area.
