The Chicago White Sox activated left-hander Martin Perez from the 60-day injured list on Wednesday.

Perez, 34, landed on the 15-day IL on April 19 with left elbow inflammation and moved to the 60-day IL two days later. He made one rehab start each with Triple-A Charlotte and Double-A Birmingham.

Perez was 1-1 with a 3.15 ERA and 18 strikeouts through four starts before the injury. The Chicago Sun-Times reported that he will be used in relief for the time being and came on in the sixth inning of Wednesday’s game against the Detroit Tigers for his first outing since April.
