A Georgia woman has been arrested for allegedly murdering her girlfriend and chopping her up into 13 "pieces" — hiding her hands, feet and head somewhere, while burning the rest of her remains on a street corner — after the victim tried leaving her, prosecutors say.
"This case involves what are just horrific facts," said Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis at a press conference on Wednesday, where she announced the arrest of Angel Thompson after nearly a decade of not knowing who killed 24-year-old Nicole Alston.
On Dec. 6, 2007, Troup County Sheriff's deputies responded to a report of a suspicious black bag that was on fire and burning at the corner of Whitfield Road and Stitcher Road in Hogansville. Inside was Alston's torso and other parts of her.
"When they found her body, i
