KERSHAW, S.C. — A Kershaw County man has been sentenced to life in prison following his conviction for the 2020 murder of his mother’s fiancé.

On August 6, a Kershaw County jury found Quinterra Siriwat guilty of murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime. Circuit Court Judge Heath P. Taylor handed down a life sentence, ordering Siriwat to serve his time in the South Carolina Department of Corrections.

The charges stem from a December 17, 2020 shooting in Lugoff, where 36-year-old Vidal Bastien was found shot multiple times inside his home. Bastien, who was engaged to Siriwat’s mother, was discovered by deputies from the Kershaw County Sheriff’s Office lying on his bed with serious gunshot wounds.
