COLUMBUS, Ohio -Cleveland State University announced Wednesday it will re-enter the U-Pass student transit program, though with changes to eligibility and payment.
CSU previously required all students to pay a fee – most recently at $57.50 per semester – embedded in its general student fees for the Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority’s U-Pass. Only about 40% of students picked up the U-Pass.
On Wednesday, CSU announced that only students who want to ride the Rapid and buses will opt into the U-Pass at the beginning of each semester. “At the time of pick-up, the student’s bill will be charged $57.50 for the U-Pass for the semester,” a CSU statement said.
