Attorneys for Mobile City Clerk Lisa Lambert wrote Tuesday that District 2 City Council candidate Reggie Hill’s lawsuit over fellow candidate Samantha Ingram’s residency should be dismissed, claiming Hill should have sued Ingram to resolve questions about Ingram’s electoral eligibility, not the city.

On Friday, Aug. 1, Hill filed a lawsuit in Mobile County Circuit Court against Lambert, in her role as chief election officer, and called on the court to make Lambert remove Ingram from the District 2 ballot before Tuesday, Aug. 19, one week before the election on Tuesday, Aug. 26.
