The most successful team at St. Louis University over the past decade has been, hands down, the women’s soccer team.
Seven consecutive conference championships and seven straight NCAA tournament berths, with an overall record of 117-25-13 over those seven seasons and a 60-3-5 mark in regular-season Atlantic 10 play. All three of those conference losses came in 2021, the only year of those seven SLU didn’t win the A-10 regular-season title. SLU is undefeated in 42 consecutive games vs. A-10 opponents.
But times change. The players who were around for much of that run, like forward Emily Gaebe, defender Lyndsey Heckel (the A-10 offensive and defensive players of the year last season) and goalkeeper Emily Puricelli, have moved on after in some cases five seasons at SLU.
