LANCASTER, S.C. (WBTV) - James Singleton was in police custody on Wednesday in connection with the killing of a 57-year-old man at an apartment in Lancaster.
Lancaster police said they were called out to Palmetto Place Apartments in Lancaster on Pardue Street around 9:30 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 11. When they arrived, they reportedly found 57-year-old Edward Townsend with a single gunshot wound.
Reports say Townsend was taken to MUSC Health in Lancaster, where he died from his injuries.
On Wednesday, Aug. 13, James Singleton was arrested in Rock Hill with the help of Rock Hill Police, the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division, and South Carolina Department of Pardon Probation and Parole.
Singleton was being held at the Lancaster Police Department.
