U.S. Army Reserve Lt. Col. Jason A. Reding Quiñones is officially the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Florida.

During a swearing-in ceremony on Wednesday in Miami, U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi administered the oath of office.

In a statement, Reding Quiñones described himself as the son of a Cuban political refugee and a proud Miami native, and he pledged to “work tirelessly to protect the American people, restore impartial justice, and defend the rule of law without fear or favor.”

The Justice Department described him as a decorated 22-year veteran who has experience as a judge advocate in the U.S. Air Force and provides legal counsel to the U.S. Department of Defense’s Central Command.
