Alberta Culture Days is set to kick off once again, Sept. 1, with hundreds of free family-friendly events taking place.

Nearly a quarter-million Albertans took in events last year, celebrating the province’s arts and culture scene.

This year, 111 organizations in 48 communities are receiving grants from the province to put on events. In total, the grants are worth $380,000.

Among the places you can go for free on Sept. 27 and 28, are 20 provincially-owned museums, historic sites and archives.

“Alberta Culture Days is a month-long showcase of the creativity, diversity and spirit that power this incredible province,” says Tanya Fir, Minister of Arts, Culture and Status of Women.
