WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. — Lamar Little League lost its first game in the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.
The team from Richmond played against Connecticut on Wednesday, losing 1-0.
For Lamar Little League, pitchers Shane Grawe struck out 11 and only gave up two hits in five innings of work. Joseph Miller pitched one scoreless inning.
But the sluggers from Richmond had trouble on offense, with only one hit against Connecticut's Luca Pellegrini, who pitched a complete game.
Lamar Little League will play again on Saturday. If they lose, they're out of the World Series.
