Peoria taxpayers paid the seventh largest sum in sales taxes per municipality in June, according to Illinois tax records .
In total, residents paid approximately $5.8 million in sales taxes during that month.
Peoria also ranked seventh in the Prairie State the month before, with just over $5.6 million spent in sales taxes.
The largest share of sales taxes paid by Peoria residents in June came from the Municipal Home Rule Sales Tax.
