AUSTIN (KXAN) -- A woman who police believe was driving under the influence and caused a crash that killed two people in Blanco County on Sunday was arrested, the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) said.

At around 2:43 p.m. on Sunday, DPS said it responded to a three-vehicle crash on Ranch Road 165.

Preliminary investigation indicated an SUV, driven by Jackson, was traveling on Ranch Road 165 when it rear-ended an SUV. That vehicle spun out into the opposite lane and was hit by another vehicle, DPS said.

Authorities said Alexandra Jackson left the scene, was later located and arrested.

Two people in the vehicle were pronounced dead, DPS said. They are identified as Cynthia Schade and Donna Stevens. Two others in a separate vehicle were taken to a hospital for injuries, DPS said.
