EL CERRITO – Authorities on Wednesday arrested a suspect in connection with a sexual assault earlier this year in El Cerrito.

The episode happened between midnight and 1:30 a.m. on May 18 on the Ohlone Greenway, between Hill Street and Blake Street, according to the El Cerrito Police Department.

The suspect met the victim at the Del Norte BART station before abducting and sexually assaulting her, police said.

On Tuesday, detectives identified the suspect as an 18-year-old Richmond man after receiving a notification from the Combined DNA Index System, according to police.
