For Kevin Stroebel, going to the Caldwell Night Rodeo has been a way of life his entire life.

A native of Kuna and current resident of Melba, Stroebel said his first Caldwell Night Rodeo came when he was between the ages of 7 and 10. Roughly 45 years later, he was back on Tuesday night, getting ready to watch one of his granddaughters compete in the junior rodeo barrel racing.

Stroebel estimated that it was the 30th time he has been to the event, even with moving away for 10 years. He said his granddaughter comes from “a family of team ropers,” that his brother was on the Caldwell Night Rodeo board, and his sister-in-law was helping take tickets on Tuesday.
