MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — This week, the newest section of the Three Mile Creek Greenway Trail will open at the Charles Wood Japanese Garden, according to a release from the City of Mobile.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place on Friday, Aug. 15, at 9 a.m. to celebrate the completion and other improvements at the garden, located at 700 Forest Hill Drive.

The Three Mile Creek Greenway Trail will serve as the western trailhead that connects directly to the Charles Wood Japanese Garden, the release said.

The goal for this trail is to connect parks, public amenities, and neighborhoods across Mobile.

Accessibility upgrades have been added to the parking facilities at the Charles Wood Japanese Garden and improved pedestrian access to the trail, the release said.
