Lifeguards at a popular beach say they've escorted hundreds of people to safety from sandbanks, amid fears the heatwave could see more beach-goers taking risks.

Figures from the RNLI show that 303 beachgoers at risk of being cut off by the tide have been helped back to shore at Wells-next-the-Sea in Norfolk, in just the space of three weeks.

The RNLI fears that the current heatwave, this summer's fourth, could see even more people stranded and are warning beachgoers to take heed of the dangers.
